Hola! Venus Beads is me, Venesa Torres, Registered Dietitian by trade, but truly a glass Goddess by heart.

On this site you’ll find a variety of handmade lampwork / glass beads. You can use these beads in your own creations of jewelry, ornaments or anything else you can think of! My glass "creations" are handmade by me over an open flame using Italian Moretti/Effetre glass, Vetrofond, German Lauscha, Borosilicate, American Double Helix and/or Bullseye glass. I anneal all of my beads in a digitally-controlled kiln to insure lasting beauty, strength and durability.

I am a native New Mexican (Albuquerque,) but now happily reside in the foothills of the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.

I've called many places in the states my home in the last 15 years thanks to my hubby Steve and his ever expanding job opportunities.

We've lived in Texas - twice! First El Paso Texas and last Dallas Texas. We've also called Denver Colorado, OKC Oklahoma (just me for Grad school,) Omaha Nebraska and Phoenix Arizona home. We've also been lucky enough to travel in and out of the states as well. Traveling is a passion for both of us.

I've always had a need to be creative and do something crafty. I think in glass art / lampworking I have found my true calling. Each bead is a wonderful work of art that reaches completion in a matter of minutes. It's definitely an addiction and I've always said there needs to be a "beads anonymous" support group for the OCD bead makers and beaders of the world.

I work hard at my craft, but enjoy my time at the torch very much. I greatly appreciate the support that I get from people like you so that I can continue to do what I love.
